To celebrate Europe Day and help international students discover Łódź from a local perspective, ECIU Student Ambassadors from TUL organised an interactive city game for participants visiting the university as part of the Pitch it or Fix It: The Start-up Innovation Challenge. The initiative combined sightseeing, teamwork and intercultural exchange, introducing participants to the city through creative tasks and friendly competition.

The city game, titled Łódź Decoded, was prepared and coordinated by two ECIU Student Ambassadors, Marta Kołodzińska and Julia Zając, who designed the route, created the tasks and guided participants throughout the event. The game took students through some of the best-known locations in the city centre, including Pomnik Jednorożca, Piotrkowska Street, Pasaż Róży and Plac Wolności.

At each checkpoint, teams completed interactive tasks connected with the history, culture and atmosphere of Łódź — from searching for urban art and writing short poems to recreating famous monument poses and collecting fun facts from local residents. Symbolic prizes were awarded to the winning team.

The visiting students came to Łódź as part of the Pitch it or Fix It: The Start-up Innovation Challenge — an international learning challenge focused on innovation in the automotive sector, organised jointly by Lodz University of Technology and INSA Toulouse. The challenge forms part of the wider JUMP project (Joint University Challenge-Based Minor Program for Future Generations of Innovative Entrepreneurs), which aims to develop students’ innovation and entrepreneurial skills through challenge-based learning and international collaboration.

The ECIU Office team would like to sincerely thank Marta, Julia, Gosia, Julian and Wiktor for preparing the city game for the participants and showing them our city in the spirit of international cooperation, openness and academic community integration.
