As part of the ECIU4Ukraine vol. 2 project, representatives of our partner universities from Ukraine took part in a training course delivered by the Center for Higher Education Policy Studies at the University of Twente.
During the first week of December, representatives of ten Ukrainian universities took part in the very last event of the ECIU4Ukraine vol. 2 project: a three-day-long training course at the Center for Higher Education Policy Studies (CHEPS) at the University of Twente.
CHEPS is an interdisciplinary research institute renowned for its research, trainings and consultancies on higher education policy, particularly from an international comparative perspective. Rectors, vice-rectors and other key staff members from our partner universities took part in various seminars delivered by prof. dr Barend van der Meulen and dr Harry de Boer.
Topics discussed during the seminars included: the nature of universities, ecosystems for universities, innovation and entrepreneurialism at HEIs as well as several Ukraine-specific subjects such as strategy-making in times of urgent needs and unknown opportunities or impact of trends in EU higher education on Ukraine. Training participants also had an opportunity to refresh their knowledge of the European Universities Initiative and find out more about the ECIU University from Katrin Dircksen, ECIU Secretary General. Finally, our Ukrainian partners also attended a very inspiring session with Mike Verkouter from Novel T, an innovative non-profit organization which supports business development in startups, spin-offs, scale-ups and SMEs.
