Join us for an open workshop related to sharing good practices of citizen science organised by a transdisciplinary, international research group working on the Citizen Science and the Societal Impacts of Artificial Intelligence (CSSIAI) project as part of the ECIU Seed Programme.
Please join us for an open workshop related to sharing good practices of citizen science!
During the event we will be discussing public engagement in scientific research and the social impact of science.
The workshop is organised by a transdisciplinary citizen science research team consisting of researchers from Lodz University of Technology, Dublin City University and Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona who run the Citizen Science and the Societal Impacts of Artificial Intelligence (CSSIAI) project as part of the ECIU Seed Programme.
Citizen science is a wide range of activities involving the society in science and linking science to societal needs. It is part of the open science movement to make science more accessible, democratic, and transparent. It allows for greater access to information (open access) and more reliable use of data (open data) with active stakeholder engagement (open to society). Therefore, citizen science practices transcend disciplinary boundaries and open labs; in addition to professional scientists, ordinary people participate by formulating research questions, collecting, and reporting data, and analysing results. According to this concept, knowledge becomes a common good and universities collaborate with society, governments, industry, and the financial world.
The event will take place on Tuesday 3rd June from 2 to 4pm on TUL campus at the Faculty of Organization and Management (Building B9, room oz 25).
