At the beginning of May 2025, two TUL students took part in ECIU Creathon, one of the key events aimed at students. Read the article to find out what the experience was like and why you too should join Creathon next year!
In mid-March, two students from Lodz University of Technology embarked on an exciting journey to take part in the ECIU Creathon organised by the University of Aveiro. The event took place in May and involved 3 days of hard work focusing on developing solutions and business models to create the safest possible energy future for us all.
The challenge, called ‘Unlocking B2B Opportunities in the Energy Transition’, divided students from ECIU universities into 10 teams that presented, among other things:
- the myriad of opportunities to optimise energy services
- ways to maximise the efficiency of logistics processes
- solutions to local community problems.
The students themselves describe the event as follows:
‘To be honest, I still can't describe how great the event was. Everything was organised to the highest possible standard. The work process itself was very interesting, despite the fact that I had no previous exposure to the energy sector. We learned a lot about business models in such a short time. But it is only thanks to the fantastic people I met in Aveiro that I find myself describing this Creathon so well. I am already looking forward to going again to the next event organised by ECIU. I sincerely recommend it to everyone, even to those who are not fully convinced - going to another country with the ECIU and getting to know other cultures is the best thing that can happen to a young person.’
- Mateusz Rembowski, Management and Production Engineering student
‘ Participating in Creathon was an amazing experience - full of great people and new challenges. Although I don't deal with energy topics on a daily basis, the way the problem was presented and the support of the mentors allowed me to understand the concept and get interested in it. My team consisted of members from different disciplines, and together we focused on the challenge of growing PRIO's business in international markets.
I also have positive memories of the other Creathon participants, my team was fantastic and the newly made friendships allowed me to broaden my perspectives. Thanks to PRIO, we were also able to spend an evening by the ocean, which was a great opportunity to relax after the intense work and integrate.’
- Katarzyna Kordala, Mathematical Methods in Data Analysis student
The organisers of the event emphasised that problem-solving skills, critical thinking and market analysis were of the highest standard among participants. Representatives from the energy company PRIO, which collaborated with Aveiro University, were delighted with the amount of innovation.
