Research Week at the Lodz University of Technology was attended by participants of the ECIU4Ukraine vol 2 project.
The annual project called ECIU4Ukraine vol 2 is a continuation of the activities initiated last year in the ECIU4Ukriane project. Lodz University of Technology coordinates it in cooperation with the European Consortium of Innovative Universities. The project is a year-long endeavour funded by the National Agency for Academic Exchange NAWA. It envisages a series of activities to support higher education in Ukraine at a difficult time of war.
This year, as part of the activities planned in the project, we invited representatives from 10 Ukrainian universities to participate in Research Week at the Lodz University of Technology. The guests participated in sessions and panel discussions in English, which were held as part of the event. There was also a special session "ECIU InnoFusion: Polish-Ukrainian Exchange of Innovative Ideas" led by Dr Dorota Piotrowska, Professor at TUL. The session was attended by both, Ukrainian guests and scientists from the TUL, and consisted of a rapid exchange of ideas, presentation of innovative concepts and ongoing research work. This fast-paced session laid the foundations for future research cooperation. The guests also had the opportunity to visit selected TUL faculties and talk directly with staff members interested in cooperation.
The ECIU4Ukraine vol 2 project implemented by the Lodz University of Technology aims to further involve Ukrainian partners in the activities of the ECIU University by fostering cooperation and academic exchange between the Lodz University of Technology, the ECIU and 10 Ukrainian universities in areas including:
- the organisation of student, doctoral student and staff exchanges at partner institutions,
- participation in study visits, training courses
- active participation in conferences (including the alliance's biggest event of the year, the ECIU University Forum),
- development or preparation of new and innovative educational tools and methods (e.g. challenge-based learning, micro-credentials),
- networking and establishing cooperation between Ukrainian universities and alliance members,
developing the basis for a double degree.
