Over 250 TUL students have already participated in ECIU challenges and micro-modules, and we hope many more will join during this academic year, too!
European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU) is an alliance of 14 European universities, including TUL, where learners, teachers, and researchers work with cities, communities, and businesses to solve real-life challenges.
Our students, as members of the ECIU, can participate in two types of learning opportunities: challenges and micro-modules, most of which are delivered online and are awarded with ECTS points.
Over 250 TUL students have already participated in ECIU challenges and micro-modules, and we hope many more will join during this academic year, too!
Why participate?
- ECIU courses are completely free of charge.
- You can gain international recognition (in the form of e-sealed micro-credentials) and ECTS points.
- There are several study formats to choose from: from online courses to stationary and blended learning.
- Access to short mobility opportunities - if your course is “on campus” or “blended” you will be able to spend a few days at the ECIU member university - travel and accommodation costs can be covered by the Erasmus+ Programme!
- Innovative teaching methods – ECIU courses are delivered using a practical-oriented methodology (CBL challenge-based learning).
- You will become a member of an international community of teachers, students, private companies and NGOs from diverse backgrounds and countries.
- For fun :-)
The ECTS credits earned at ECIU can be used: in your course of study, as elective courses or as certification added to your Diploma Supplement. For further information ask your Dean's office.

Simply create an account at the ECIU University Engage portal, browse through the learning opportunities and apply to the ones that excite your interest.
Please note, the academic year at most of our partner universities starts earlier than at TUL, thus application deadlines for most courses taught during the winter semester close in September. Be quick and apply now!
