The objective is to initiate:

- joint ECIU collaborative research projects to be submitted to EU / international calls in 2026;

- networking projects (e.g. COST);

- collaboration for doctoral training.

4 fields:

Energy & Sustainability

Transport & Mobility

Health & Wellbeing

Digital Transformation

2 meetings: 9 April 2026 (online) and 4-5 November 2026 (on-site)

The ECIU Research Labs are structured in a two-stage networking plan:
1. an online meeting on 9 April 2026 from 11:00 to 13:00 CET
2. an in-person workshop on 4-5 November 2026 at Lodz University of Technology

How can you be involved?

1. You are a researcher in "Energy & Sustainability", "Transport & Mobility", "Health & Wellbeing" or "Digital Transformation" with a research idea/research project, and you are interested in finding ECIU partners;

2. Post this idea on the R&I Hub by 3 March 2026. You will find attached the template to use to structure your idea.

What happens before the online event on 9 April 2026?

Your idea will be included in one of the break-out sessions of the online meeting on 9 April 2026 from 11:00 to 13:00 CET (mark it already on your calendar!).

More details (programme, how to register) for this event will follow as soon as possible.

What happens after the online event?

Hopefully, a lot of interactions among you and ECIU researchers interested in your idea!

This remote interaction will develop into a one-page description of your project idea to be submitted by you to the ECIU Vice Presidents Group by 25th June 2026. VPRs will select the most convincing ideas (criteria will be shared soon).

What happens after your project idea has been selected?

If you are selected, you and your research fellows will keep interacting remotely and get ready for the physical meeting on 4-5 November 2026 at Lodz University of Technology (TUL) in Poland.
