The innovative flexible learning pathway within the JUMP project has been designed and developed by Lodz University of Technology in close cooperation with INSA Toulouse, combining international collaboration, challenge-based learning, and hands-on entrepreneurial experience.

The pathway has been implemented step by step over recent months. In May 2026, students took part in a challenge-based learning (CBL) component organised as a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) in Lodz entitled “From Concept to Venture - Be or Not to Be in ESG Reports”, and completed two complementary micro-modules. The current “Startup!” micro-module in Toulouse (15-19 June 2026) represents the final on-site stage of this learning journey.

A key academic contribution to this learning opportunity was provided by dr Robert Blażlak from Lodz University of Technology. He also joined Rebecca Coles and Paul Scanlan as a co-teamcher at INSA Toulouse, delivering sessions on customer value creation and business modelling.

The full learning pathway consists of:

1 ECTS - Essential Principles of Business Modelling and Start-ups (micro-module, online)

1 ECTS - From Research to Market (micro-module, online)

3 ECTS - From Concept to Venture - Be or Not to Be in ESG Reports (Challenge, Blended Intensive Programme in Lodz)

3 ECTS - Startup! (micro-module at INSA Toulouse)

The pathway will be further extended through Challenge-Based Learning Internship and Challenge-Based Learning Thesis opportunities, developed in close cooperation with Grupa Krotoski in Lodz, allowing students to continue advancing their projects in real-world contexts.

During the Toulouse week, students worked intensively on developing core entrepreneurial competences such as communication, teamwork, market analysis, and value creation, while engaging directly with the innovation ecosystem. Activities included workshops, networking sessions, and a visit to the technology start-up Nanomade, offering practical insight into venture development, as well as market analysis workshops hosted at Le Catalyseur - a key innovation hub and startup support center in Toulouse that connects students with the local entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The JUMP project at Lodz University of Technology is coordinated by Prof. Jacek Sawicki (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering) and dr inż. Dorota Piotrowska, university professor (International Cooperation Centre).

This comprehensive pathway demonstrates how integrating micro-modules, international mobility, and challenge-based learning can effectively support students in transforming ideas into viable, market-oriented ventures aligned with ESG considerations.
